The annual 24-Hour Opera Project® is back, and this year we're teaming up with the crazy-hilarious folks at Dad's Garage! See what happens when our composers and singers team up with their writers and directors for one harried, red-eye night flight of collaboration, as they work to create cohesive, unique, bite-sized operas.

The 2017-18 season is designed to bring some of the grandest, most exciting operas in the repertoire to our mainstage, alongside rarities that have never been seen before in Atlanta.

We open with Richard Wagner’s
The Flying Dutchman. In February, Donizetti’s delightful The Daughter of the Regiment. In May, we present Georges Bizet’s Carmen. We close our season with Sondheim’s dark and witty musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

The Discoveries series partners with New York-based On Site Opera to bring Mozart’s
The Secret Gardener to life in a new site-specific co-production at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Written by an 18-year-old Mozart, The Secret Gardener is a story of love, madness, and redemption that unfolds in the lush setting of a beautiful garden.
